MAC Matchmaster Foundation

After purchasing my new NARS blush, I decided it was time to get rid of the Maybelline foundations that I hardly used and replace them with a step up in my beauty routine. I chose MAC mostly because I happened to be wandering by it in Nordstrom and a sales associate asked me if I needed help. I was really looking for a Chanel foundation, but she was a MAC lady so I let her do my makeup (which she didn't seem too happy about. -.-) I told her I have very dry skin and I wanted light to medium coverage so she applied shade 1.5 to my skin and it looked very nice. It felt ok on my skin and I kind of just went with it, trying to knock things off my shopping list. (In retrospect, I really wish I had just found the Chanel counter girl, but I'll live.)

Anyways this foundation turned out ok for me, its nothing amazing and I only use 1-1.5 pumps for my whole face. I feel like she just listened to how much coverage I wanted without taking into consideration the fact that I tried to tell her my skin will just peel off with most makeup. This hasn't turned out particularly bad for me, but its probably not something I will purchase again, even though it is cheaper than other high-end brands. I like that it has spf and this shade works well with my skin, but other than that, its really nothing to scream about. I'd rather try out the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.

Pros: Wide selection of shades, Covers dark circles well, spf 15, Price

Cons: Not moisturizing, exposes dry peeling skin A LOT

Nars Orgasm Blush

This is considered one of the most coveted shades of blush that any beauty brand could offer. It has a cult following and is one of Sephora's bestsellers. Needless to say, I was very very excited to receive it in the mail the other day! I couldn't decide whether or not to get this one or deep throat because of my light complexion, however, everyone claims that this is a universal shade that will do wonders for anyone.

And I do have to say, it is a fantastic blush. Goes on very easy and it does simply look incredibly pretty. That's probably the best word I could use to describe it. Simply pretty. At least on my fair skin. I only use one or two swipes and then I'm done. For the fair skinned, it does not deliver the sultry erotic look the name and description imply. Which really is fine in my book. When I wear it  I feel like those old drawings or girls with very fresh, rosy cheeks. Layering it on more would give a very doll-like color which can be nice if that's the focus you were going for.

Pros: Rich Color, Shimmery Highlighting Effect, Wonderful Packaging, Easy Application

Cons: Does not last on my skin very long

The Doll effect can be a pro or con depending on you :)
